Gedling Southbank Athletic against Lowdham Colts Blue Final Score 0 – 1

Cold morning saw us at Colwick for an away game against Gedling Southbank. Both teams doing well in the league table so this was always going to be a tough game for us. We had a full squad as James stepped in for Alfie who was still injured but great to see him come and support his team. It was good to have Tom D back with us too.

In the first half both teams played well with some great tackling with a near shot on goal for Gedling shortly after kick off saved by sweeper keeper Chester.  Some great passing from Dylan, Jake and Rhys with Joe D having a shot on goal saved by Gedling. A lot of throw ins in the first half as both teams battling for possession of the ball.  James, Rhys and Joe W up the wing with Gedling on their case. Tom D and Joe D battling upfront with great passing. Great defending from Tom R and Seb.

Second half saw Lowdham have more possession, Gedling defending well with Chester saving a few shots on goal from Gedling. 10 minutes in saw a penalty awarded to Lowdham which was taken by Jamie who scored a corker of a goal. Lowdham defending hard with Joe W, Jake and Billy getting stuck in to get possession of the ball. Strong defending from Tom R, Seb and Jamie.  Final score at half time 0-1 coming 3rd in the league. Parents player of the match went to Jamie.

It was a tense 1 1/2hr wait for results to come in for the other game which saw us secure 2nd place in the league.

Another great game from our boys in blue and a big congratulations to our manager Lee 🙂
