Bouncebackability

Bouncebackability

After last weeks mistakes from us Managers we were keen to put things right. The boys therefore played most of the game in a fixed position and wow did this make a difference…..

They were AWESOME!!!

To be fair we started a touch slowly but as the game went on our passing, positional play and confidence got better and better.

Highlight for us was the outstanding Communication between the boys, both in encouraging each other but also to make sure we maintain our positions, this was all of them which is brilliant and shows they reflect in their play what they learn in training. It is clear that the new boys are starting to gel and also through confidence show what they can do and enjoy it.

All boys played well, nope, played very well indeed……

Some special mentions…..

Kai really impressed. He continues to grow in confidence each week and with it we are seeing his true potential coming through. His tenacious play going forward was superb and his reward was two fabulously well taken goals ⚽️⚽️. More impressive was the way he battled back down the wing defensively, this is team work and also shows massive work rate…….this is what makes you a Colt! Well done Kai

Ewan was brilliant and at times breathtaking with his play, great vision, speed and skill. He made the chances for himself and his team mates today and whilst he didn’t score he was very impressive.

Return of the Mack! Step forward Jude Marshall We know what he can do and how well he can play. He’s had a tough time recently, low on confidence and not as engaged wanting to play. I’ve allowed him to just slowly do his own thing and hope his confidence would return. Over the past two weeks I’ve seen glimpses and today he was just about back to doing what I know he can. He played great, filling our void in midfield, linking up with Will, Fin and Noah, battling away and keeping position. He scored a cracking free kick, curling it over the wall into the top corner, plus another as a result of some lovely passing between the boys and really looked up for it. He deservedly was our Man of the Match ?⚽️?

Sam (clean sheet = hat-trick), Will (an absolute Rock in defence who was foot perfect), Fin (explosive, accurate, positive and strong), Noah (Silky, powerful, great passing and improving work rate) & Taylor (worked his socks off, strong, powerful and fully deserved his great goal ⚽️)

We will stick with this type of approach to subs etc and positional play. Albeit on a match to match basis we’ll try some boys in a different position.

Big thanks as always to our Supporters, please keep up the great encouragement to the boys.

You Super Colts!!
