A cracking performance from our boys in Blue

After the defeat of last weeks friendly at Southwell, the boys performance for the league game against Hucknall Harriers on Saturday was fantastic. Each and everyone of them played their hearts out to give us a 11 – 1 win.

The team was captained by James for the first half who organised his team well. Shortly after kick off, saw an excellent pass from Jamie to Dylan to give us the lead, with another 2  in short succession. The boys were looking and passing to each other shouting for the ball, upfront Joe was like lightning. The goals were starting to come in thick and fast from Billy, then Dylan and James making 6 – 0 to us at half time.

In the second half, Hucknall came back fighting but that didn’t phase the boys as the 7th goal came from Alfie. Shortly after Hucknall scored their 1st goal but this didn’t deter the boys and they continued to play great football. The 8th, goal came from Tom D with another from Tom shortly after assisted by his brother Joe. Tom was on a mission and he scored another 2 goals making the final score 11 – 1.

Our sweeper keeper was on the ball, excuse the pun and made some cracking saves.

It was a difficult call for Parents man of the match this week as they all performed and played great football. Parents agreed that as Dylan set us up for our great win that he should receive it this week.

A special thanks to Paul Wright who stepped in for Lee this week as caretaker manager. He did a great job in getting them warmed up before the game and motivated throughout. Pictures to follow.
