Eastwood FC v Lowdham Colts Blue 1 -2

This week’s match saw the boys travel to Eastwood for an early wet kick off wanting revenge for last season. We started slow with Eastwood piling on the pressure for an early goal. But we stayed strong with some solid defending from Joseph, Billy and Tom R (slitting his boots in the process) and as ever some good saves from sweeper keeper Chester. The boys then began to gather momentum with some lovely passing from Jake and James trying to feed Alfie for a goal. Our break finally came with a great through ball from Rhys to Tom D to give us our first goal. Half time score 0-1.
The second half saw both teams come back determined for a win, but Seb continued to boss the defence creating a wall which Eastwood just couldn’t get through. We had a few chances Dylan hitting the post, but it took a lovely pass from Billy straight to Alfie’s feet for him to bury in the net for the second goal. The final minutes of the match saw Eastwood throw everything they could at us and eventually they were rewarded with a goal. Both sides were still not going to give in with Joe D making a lovely run up the pitch but unable to get a shot off at goal. Minutes later the final whistle was blown and the match was ours making it a good 1-2 win.
