Gallant reds run out of steam.

Friday night and DJ and Ramsey attracted to the peaty waters of Islay once more and then home to watch the last few holes of the Ryder cup. Saturday arrived and Ramsey woke with cup fever. A lazy morning and then off to Magna Meadows to sort the nets and welcome Jamie Lord’s West Bridgford United with the pitch looking good.

With the King up a mountain and Chazzer unavailable, Frazola, Alexandro and Francisco still injured Ramsey shuffled the remains of his pack. Camsterazi donned the goalie gloves, Shaymar, Cotterillo, JC and Arbuckloa at the back, Buchanzini and Redders as anchor men Jonno, Joe Shaylor and G force across the front with Wiggo up top. Dunners and Adamola on the bench.

LC start the brighter for the third game in a row and this time make there early superiority tell with Joe Shaylor getting on the end of a great passing move to slot home. 1-0 LC. Then a great run from Big W beats two defenders and the ball comes back off the post. Then up the other end and the LC defence outstripped and WB in for 1-1. Rest of the half pretty even but with the WB keeper slightly the busier making good saves from Shaylor and G force. HT 1-1.

Second half and a well contested even affair with WB going ahead with a well taken goal 1-2. LC resurgent however and the equalizer comes as G force cuts in from the left and hits an unstoppable shot for 2-2. Lc crank it up now and after a great ball from the left G force slots home number 3. 3-2 LC. A 5 minute break for lightning and then LC have 15 minutes to defend their lead. A couple of great chances to kill the game missed and then with 5 minutes to go the WB forward given time to turn 25 yards out and blasts the equalizer into the top corner.

Extra time and WBs 5 subs against LC’s 2 the difference with Jonno and Big W off injured and the rest running on empty. First half and LC have a couple of great chances to go ahead but don’t take them and WB make them pay for 3-4. Second half and LC dead on their feet and WB get a fifth. 3-5 it finishes but a great game by two well matched teams. 3-23 up with 5 to go we should have closed it out though. G force MOM and Camsterazi doing a great job between the sticks. You Reds!
