No hiding from a bit of a hiding as tangerines get turned into fruit juice in the sun!
Friday night and a swift drink at the Reindeer Sportsbar early doors with an uncharacteristically malt free evening. Saturday arrives and off to play Sherwood, bottom of the league, who LC had beaten 2-0 before Xmas. LC had 11 whereas Sherwood had 16, which on a hot sunny day proved to be the difference. Chazzer in goals, Camsterazi, JC, Francisco and Arbuckloa at the back. Wiggo, Redders, Jonno and Alexandro in midfield, G force in the whole and Frazola up top.
Worst possible start for LC with a ball over the top not dealt with and Chazzer beaten for 0-1. Some good play from LC for the next 15 minutes not rewarded with headers over from Arbuckloa and Frazola from point blank range and Alexandro , G force and Big W all a bit shot shy when they had chances to score. Up the other end with a soft goal, the centre forward being allowed to turn and stroke the ball in from an angle. 0-2
Number 3 came as a result of another through ball behind the centre-backs not dealt with and then number 4 courtesy of a soft penalty, which looked six and half a dozen. HT 0-4
Second half and Ramsey moved to 3 at the back pushing JC forward to try and get a grip in midfield but this did little to stem the flow with Sherwood getting number 5 after 5 minutes and number 6 shortly thereafter. Another 4 to make it 10 with all LC having to show was a long range drive from Francisco for a consolation goal and a couple of headers from corners saved or coming back off the post.
At the end of the day LC would have won this comfortably had it not been for a dodgy penalty first half and 9 wonderstrikes. On a day where no-one was par or better, Camsterazi MOM, Frazola, Jonno and Chazzer not far behind. One game left against Wollaton, gladly not on 3G where LC have played 2 games this season and lost 15-2 on aggregate. 5 subs v none meant that there was no way back for LC whereas in some previous games when we have behind we have been able to bring on fresh legs. Next up Wollaton for the last game. It would be nice to get a better turnout and finish 11 years of football with a bit more style!!! You Reds!
