Under 8 reds secure well fought victory

The following match report comes from our very own Oliver Gale, a future sports reporter in the making.

Lowdham U8 v Willow Wanderers

On a cold but sunny day, Lowdham Colts hosted a fixture against Willow Wanderers U8. Lowdham Captain for the day was Ben Warburton. Lowdham’s first quarter team had three Olivers and two Bens in the starting 5.

The game kicked off with excitement and quickly saw chances for both teams. Lowdham scored the opening goal through Ollie B within the first few minutes. Not long after, a second goal for Lowdham suddenly came through Oliver Henshaw.

Willow Wanderers then scored from a corner. The ball was crossed in and flew into the back off the net off a knee. The Lowdham goal keeper had no chance of saving it.

Lowdham then struck back again with another goal from Oliver B to make the score 3-1. The last quarter was tight as Willow Wanderers scored another goal.

Max A then hit a long range shot which flew into the back of the net and secured a win for Lowdham. The final score was 4-2.

Overall the game was an entertaining game between the two sides. Lowdham’s man of the match was Ben B for his great tackling and passing.
